ID Worker - Glazier (Construction)

Job Purpose: This is an entry level position. The ID worker will work with journeyman glaziers and learn the trade. This position is part of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades. This position will advance to apprenticeship and union schooling. Acommercial glazieris a skilled tradesperson who specializes incutting, installing, and replacing glassand other materials (such as aluminum or steel framing systems) used in the construction ofcommercial and residential settings. This includes structures like office buildings, schools, hospitals, shopping centers, high-rises, residential homes and apartments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Installing windows, curtain walls, skylights, and glass panels in large-scale commercial projects Measuring and marking glass or mirror products for installation Assembling and installing metal framing for glass systemsEnsuring glass and framing systems are sealed and weatherproofedReading and interpreting blueprints and construction plans
Install architectural aluminum window systems, glass handrails, mirrors, door entrances and decorative wall systems in commercial and residential buildings
