Transportation Coordinator (Finance)

Position Purpose:

Responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties and providing support to the Transportation Department.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews and processes driver payroll and status changes.
  • Monitors new and existing accounts in Roadnet, Peoplenet, and Cooltrax database.
  • Reviews dashboard link, monitors drivers' routes, and informs supervisor/manager and Customer Care of the need for possible route changes.
  • Provides transportation assistance for all driver call-ins regarding route delivery issues and customer call backs.
  • Receives driver receipts and accompanying paperwork, investigates and corrects discrepancies, processes invoices, and handles deposits of customer checks
  • Organizes driver paperwork to send to Claims and archives paperwork.
  • Coordinates new drivers phone set up, corporate lodging cards, fuel cards, uniforms orders, etc.
  • Processes all driver paperwork (manifests, DVIR's, fuel receipts, hotel bills, COD checks, etc.).
  • Contacts customers for reviews, late deliveries, etc.
  • Performs other relevant job duties as required.

Experience:

Warehouse/Operations/Transportation experience preferred but not required.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:

  • Understanding of Safety guidelines.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable computer system functions.
  • DOT compliance knowledge preferred.
  • Understands procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication/decision-making skills.
  • Ability to interact with all departments and all levels of management.
  • Equipment knowledge is a plus.

Physical Environment/Demands:
  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment.
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, file, grasp and fine manipulation; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday.
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
  • Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in perishable operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in grocery operation.
  • Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
