A Brief Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Engineering Scientist to join our Manufacturing Science and Technology (MS&T) team. This cross-functional role is ideal for candidates with a background in chemical engineering or a related engineering discipline, or a background in chemistry, microbiology, or a related scientific field. The Engineering Scientist will play a central role in leading new product transfers, including the design transfer and implementation of new development projects into manufacturing. This includes ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency throughout the transfer process. The role also supports the development, optimization, and validation of manufacturing processes for medical devices.

 
What You Will Do
  • Design Transfer Oversight: Facilitate the design transfer and implementation of new development projects into manufacturing within design control requirements.
  • Process Development Leadership: Lead and support process development, scale-up, and technology transfer activities from R&D to manufacturing.
  • Experimental Design & Evaluation: Design and execute experiments and studies to evaluate process robustness, capability, and improvements.
  • Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead and support cost reduction activities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce operational expenses.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Regulatory, R&D, and Operations to ensure seamless integration of new products and processes.   • Process Documentation Management: Develop and maintain process documentation, including protocols, reports, SOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Validation Support: Support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for equipment, processes, and cleaning procedures.
  • Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Apply statistical tools and data analysis techniques to monitor process performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, and FDA regulations and company quality standards.
Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry.
  • Hands-on experience with process development, validation, and technology transfer.
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO 13485, and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Experience with aseptic processing, sterilization, or cleanroom operations.
  • Knowledge of design of experiments (DoE) and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with medical device product lifecycle and risk management (ISO 14971).
Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in enterprise software (e.g., SAP) and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP, Excel).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a team environment.
