Global Innovation Intern (Finance)



Americold Internship Experience (AIE):

The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

What You'll Do:

  • Works closely with innovation managers/directors to collect, organize, and analyze data to evaluate the ROI and business impact of new solutions. Assist in designing data automation processes for these evaluations and contribute to a deeper understanding of how ideas translate into value
  • Develop effective reports and visualizations that track the progress and potential of innovative ideas. This includes translating complex data into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders. A key project will be assisting in the development of a "bright idea" innovation platform dashboard, making it visually appealing and simple for all users to navigate.
  • Using industrial engineering skills and rapid methods, you will help validate solutions. A core part of this will involve using Python simulations to quickly test the feasibility and effectiveness of different concepts. Create test plans and scripts and document your findings to ensure accuracy.
  • Apply statistical concepts like regression and time series analysis to provide insights and predict the success and impact of innovative solutions. This is where you'll bring analytical rigor to the challenges of predicting outcomes.
  • Responsible for maintaining and assuring the accuracy and consistency of data for all innovation projects and platforms. This is crucial for making reliable decisions
  • Work in an Agile, collaborative environment, partnering with engineers, database administrators, and innovation stakeholders across the company

What Experience You Need:

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or first year graduate student in industrial Engineering, Computer Science Statistics, Engineering or related field of study
  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming Concepts, Data Structures, Data Mining, Machine Learning and AI
  • Familiarity with Supply chain, warehousing concepts is a plus
  • Familiarity with MHE automation, controls, SCADA is a plus

What could set you apart:

  • Basic programming with Languages: C#, ASP.NET, Java, C++, PL/SQL, T-SQL is a benefit (any of these)
  • Experience in PowerBI, Tableau or similar is a benefit
  • You have a strong understanding of programming languages extensively used in Data Science applications (e.g., R, Python, Scala, Java, etc.)
  • Experience in core data science activities
