What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Maintenance Department.
  • Ensure all maintenance schedules are followed and completed.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance and safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate services with other departments (Nursing, Dietary, Housekeeping, etc.).
  • Conduct routine inspections of storage rooms, janitorial closets, and common areas.
  • Participate in state and federal surveys/inspections and assist in any needed follow-up.
  • Supervise all facility repairs, safety programs, fire prevention, and emergency protocols.
  • Monitor and support outside vendors to ensure work is completed as agreed.
  • Maintain safety data sheets (SDS) and ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals.
  • Train and supervise maintenance staff to uphold safety and infection control procedures.
  • Support budget planning and maintain records of department expenditures.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma or GED (required).
  • 3+ years of maintenance/plant experience in a supervisory role (required).
  • Strong knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand safety codes and building regulations.
  • Experience managing staff and working across departments.
  • Clear, professional communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional use of ladders/tools.
  • Exposure to typical maintenance noise, tools, and materials.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency maintenance issues at any time.
  • Reasonable accommodation can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Bonus Skills (Not Required but Nice to Have):

  • Valid license in maintenance/plant operations per local/state requirements.
  • Experience working in healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care settings.
