Anesthesiology Assistant - Rising Star Program (Finance)
Program Overview: The Rising Stars Program aims to enhance our students' academic and professional journey by providing financial support and fostering a commitment to excellence in the field of anesthesiology. Recipients of this program will receive $20,000 in scholarship funds, applied directly to their tuition, $10,000 in each of their second and third years, contingent upon maintaining the scholarship requirements (see below). Upon starting employment at UTHealth Houston, an additional $60,000 is available incrementally over 36 months.

Under the medical direction and supervision of an anesthesiologist, the Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) administers prescribed anesthesia to surgery patients, and gathers comprehensive patient data to assist in the preparation of patients' anesthetic plan.

Certification/Skills:
Bachelor's Degree and successful completion of a Commission Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited required. Two-year Anesthesia Assistant program required.

Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
