SET THE COURSE

The Functional Analyst plays a key role in supporting and enhancing technology solutions across the Tommy Bahama enterprise, with a strong focus on eCommerce and broader retail systems. This position partners closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, and external software vendors to implement, optimize, and support critical business applications, including Retail Point of Sale, Merchandising and Inventory Management, Order Management, Supply Chain, eCommerce, Digital Marketing, and Restaurant Technology.

In addition to gathering and translating business requirements into functional specifications, this role leads testing efforts across project lifecycles - including test planning, coordination, execution, and validation - to ensure high-quality, stable solutions. The Functional Analyst applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver effective technology solutions, while also providing Level 3 application support and contributing to long-term system strategy.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE

In partnership with IT, business stakeholders, and Project Managers, the Functional Analyst will:

  • Provide strategic guidance and deep functional expertise across core retail and eCommerce systems; lead key testing, validation, and release efforts to ensure successful deployments.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert for assigned applications and processes; proactively assess business needs and translate them into scalable, well-defined functional and technical requirements.
  • Analyze and evaluate system capabilities and complex solutions spanning multiple applications; recommend solutions and enhancements that optimize performance, user experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the discovery and documentation of complex business and operational requirements; design future-state process flows and create detailed functional and technical specifications.
  • Drive the planning and execution of quality assurance (QA), system integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring stakeholder alignment and test coverage.
  • Provide proactive communication and leadership around project status, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and decision-making support.
  • Define and implement user enablement strategies, including the development of training materials and facilitation of user training or train-the-trainer programs.
  • Ensure seamless transition from project delivery to operational support, coordinating knowledge transfer to business users and support teams.
  • Deliver expert-level Level 3 application support, leading root cause analysis and driving long-term resolutions for recurring issues.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with software vendors and solution partners; evaluate product roadmaps and advocate for features that align with business priorities.
  • Play a key role in identifying, shaping, and championing new initiatives and system improvements, including developing business cases and ROI assessments.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and Project Managers to maintain a prioritized product backlog and help define and evolve the long-term systems roadmap.

ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE

Education/Training/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience working in an enterprise environment supporting business-critical applications, preferably within the retail or eCommerce space.
  • Hands-on experience with systems related to retail, merchandising, supply chain, order management, digital marketing, or eCommerce is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with project management practices; formal project management experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, and Confluence is preferred.
  • Retail industry experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience on SAP Commerce Cloud platform is a strong plus.

  • Proven ability to actively listen, engage stakeholders, and translate business needs into detailed system specifications and functional requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying opportunities to improve business processes through technology, with an eye toward efficiency, scalability, and ROI.
  • Skilled in facilitating productive meetings, including preparation, agenda setting, follow-up, and issue resolution.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker who can also operate tactically to drive day-to-day execution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and IT teams; operates with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
  • Experience creating and managing detailed requirements in support of software application or system implementations.
  • Proficiency in business process mapping and data flow diagram methodologies and tools.
  • Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new systems, tools, and processes.
  • Experience using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) is a plus.

Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual's experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.

Rate Range: $76,800 to $95,000 Annually
