About the Role

Application Technicians act as an important link between Hexagon MTM and sales channels / business partners / customers. The application technician represents "the expert for measuring in the machine tool" with Hexagon MTM products. With their appearance, they represent the expert image of their own company.

Through their work, they have a positive effect and influence on the partnership relationship with our customers and sales channels. The application technician works pro-actively in the company and, as a competent expert, supports sales, product management, development and service in order to offer solution-oriented / simple applications.

The range of activities includes OEM and key account support for the easy integration of our products in order to achieve a high level of customer loyalty. In addition, the Application Technician is involved in the training of OEMs and Hexagon technicians worldwide in order to guarantee MTM's expertise in the various markets. Another focus is the active cooperation and influence on new developments as well as the final acceptance of the new solutions so that they meet market requirements.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines and controls (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc).
  • Program and optimize PLCs and macrocycles to meet customer specifications.
  • Provide proactive and competent support to customers, addressing technical issues and requirements.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver task-oriented solutions.
  • Conduct regular self-training to stay current with Hexagon MTM products and CNC technology updates.
  • Ensure conscientious and careful execution of all assigned tasks.
  • Promote responsible use of company and environmental resources.
  • Maintain a positive and expert image when interacting with business partners and customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with the machine tool and common CNC control (e.g. Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc or similar) as well as PLC and macrocycle programming
  • Confident and professional appearance towards customers, business partners and colleagues
  • Willingness to work in a team in order to act together in a task-oriented manner
  • Enjoyment of national and international travel (up to 60%)
  • Knowledge of English desirable, other languages an advantage
  • Confident, friendly and competent appearance towards business partners (positive "image to the outside world") and represent the expert image

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit for long periods of time with regularly bending and kneeling
  • Manual dexterity required for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects
  • Regularly move around the customers' worksites
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception and adjust focus
  • Frequently communicates with other employees and customers

Work Environment

  • Primarily visits customers' worksites, with occasional visits to the office
  • Equipment is kept clean, orderly, properly inspected for accurate functionality
  • Noise levels are considered low to moderate
  • If required, PPE will be provided
  • Requires travel to customers' worksites up to 100%
