Forklift Operator - Fife, WA (Finance)

Job Overview:

We are now hiring a Forklift Driver at our ACT Domicile in Fife, WA. In this role, you will be responsible for moving product using a forklift.

Job Responsibilities:

• Replenishes pick slots using the view request screen. If no requests exist, uses the manual replenish screen to fill empty or almost empty slots

• Performs knockdowns for selectors when needed

• Maintains correct counts and logs any discrepancies in inventory

• Verifies that the correct product is being put in the appropriate pick location

• Inspects assigned lift and completes vehicle inspection sheet and parks and recharges lift in its appropriate spot at the end of the shift

• Operates the lift in a safe and efficient manner and immediately informs a lead, supervisor, or manager of any potential safety violations or violation of company policy

• Perform duties in accordance with Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) policies and procedures, as appropriate for location

Job Requirements:

Experience:

• Warehouse/Operations preferred but not required

Knowledge:

• Understanding of Safety guidelines

• Strong knowledge of applicable Bakco functions and RF systems

Skills/ Abilities:

• Have an understanding of procedures in other areas of the warehouse for a more global understanding of all processes

• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two step instructions and to deal with ordinary, standardized situations

• Ability to perform very basic math skills including adding; subtracting, multiplying, and dividing two digit numbers; the four basic arithmetic operations with money; and operations with units such as inch, foot, yard; ounce, and pound

• Able to read and communicate in English

Work Environment:

• This position requires the associate to perform all duties at one of our UNFI locations, such as a distribution center or office

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently

• Exposed to temperatures ranging from -20 degrees below zero to 35 degrees Fahrenheit in Perishable Operation and 37 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit in Grocery Operation

• Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist, and hand movements required for maintenance and service procedures

• Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment

• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination, and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties. Ability to operate work-related equipment

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
