Associate Communications Manager (Marketing)

The Associate Communications Manager serves as a senior-level counsel to divisional leaders on internal communications, engagement planning, and execution in support of divisional business goals and corporate associate engagement and talent goals. This position will consult with leaders, partner with business clients and Human Resources colleagues, and develop and execute effective approaches to leadership communications, internal communications, and associate engagement. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Communications. 

Responsibilities:

   ·   Serve as a communications planning lead for multiple client groups. Understand and translate for internal audiences the strategic communications priorities of senior leaders. Advise leaders on best practices and put together strategic and tactical communications plans and recommended approaches.

  • Provide matrix management oversight of communications specialists as needed for executive communications projects for clients. 
  • Provide tactical communications support to executive/senior leaders, including drafting organizational announcements, talking points, and presentations; conducting communications coaching; supporting divisional town hall meetings; and more. 
  • Partner with HR business partners and the HR client-facing team on the development and support of associate engagement action plans. 
    • Work closely with members of the Corporate Communications team to ensure that internal and external corporate messages are aligned. 
    • Contribute to efficient tracking and reporting of departmental communications efforts. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Ten (10) or more years of directly related experience in communications, including two (2) years or more of supervisory and leadership experience. 
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, strategic mindset, and ability to connect the dots are essential. Requires extensive cross-functional collaboration with colleagues in client groups and Human Resources to deliver excellent client-focused service. 
  • Ability to represent the department with key senior stakeholders and influence different levels of the organization, from front-line associates to officer-level positions. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. 
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. 

 Hybrid:

Independence has implemented a “Hybrid” model which consists of Associates working in the office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday) and remotely 2 days a week (Monday & Friday). This role is designated as a role that fits into the “Hybrid” model. While associates may work remotely on our designated remote days, the work must be performed in the Tri-State Area of Delaware, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania
