Job Description
Primary Function of Position

The Senior Financial Analyst within our Ion business unit plays a pivotal role in delivering strategic financial insights and business partner support. As our operations and product pipeline continue to expand, so does the need for advanced quantitative insights and decision-making support.

This highly visible role is embedded within the business, partnering closely with engineering and executive leadership to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting. The FP&A team is deeply integrated into day-to-day operations, enabling them to deliver meaningful insights that help guide resource allocation and strategic planning.

In this role, you'll provide assistance with economic and strategic recommendations, drive financial planning and analyses, and manage expense oversight for the Ion business unit.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary business partner to the Ion engineering organization, specifically the Global Process Engineering and Virginia Design Engineering teams.
  • Create economic valuation and comparison models to help key business decisions.
  • Responsible for consolidation of financials for the Ion BU.
  • Design & deliver insightful reporting packages and dashboards to influence key business decisions and strategies.
  • Partner with engineering executives to develop comprehensive cost reduction roadmaps and global manufacturing strategies for Ion systems and instruments & accessories.
  • Facilitate periodic reviews and reporting of progress to plan, including modeling short-term and long-term P&L impact.
  • Proactively identify and execute continual process improvements by leveraging best practices, standardization, and automation to scale the business.
  • Ensure monthly financial results are stated accurately and in accordance with GAAP.
  • Develop and maintain accurate cost center budgets, forecasts, and month-end reporting.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant finance or accounting experience involving financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including experience building complex financial models, ability to generate insights and help with decision making
  • Exceptional leadership, relational, and communication skills, ability to synthesize information, resolve conflict, drive consensus, and reach conclusions
  • Intellectually curious and self-motivated
  • Quick learner and ability to drive successful results with limited supervision
  • Fast, high-quality execution of quantitative work with attention to detail
  • Regularly anticipate future challenges and business needs, and anticipate follow-ups and secondary implications
  • This role requires working onsite in our Sunnyvale, CA office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week

Required Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics related discipline

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of SQL, Snowflake, and Tableau preferred
  • Experience working in healthcare industry or process engineering is a plus

Base Salary Range Region 2: $108,600 USD - $156,200 USD
