Essential Responsibilities:
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is an experienced professional responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing programs that promote a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires close collaboration with management and stakeholders, pro-active problem solving, and leading EHS initiatives independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
Health and Safety Program Management: Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of workplace health and safety programs to ensure a proactive safety culture and full regulatory compliance. This position will be responsible for conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
Develop and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) including risks for high risk activities and ensure findings are integrated into daily operations.
Regulatory knowledge and compliance: Possess an in-depth understanding of federal, state, and local regulations from agencies such as OSHA and the EPA to ensure adherence across all operations. Monitor regulatory changes and adjust internal programs, documentation, and procedures accordingly.Incident investigation and root cause analysis: Thoroughly investigate all workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses. Determine the root cause(s) to implement effective corrective actions.Control of Hazardous Energy: Evaluate, design, implement and maintain a robust Lockout/Tagout program to include procedures for machinery and equipment and enhanced training. Emergency response and preparedness: Develop and manage emergency response plans, conduct drills, and train employees on proper procedures.Training and education: Design and deliver effective EHS training programs to employees at all levels. This requires the ability to explain complex topics clearly and engage diverse audiences.Environmental Management: Contribute to the development and management of environmental programs to reduce waste, minimize environmental impact, and ensure regulatory compliance. Perform necessary data collection and reporting for environmental metrics, ensuring timely submissions to regulatory bodies as required. Continuous Improvement: Monitor EHS performance including developing objectives and metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance safety.
