The City of Fort Collins is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to Intern with our Water Treatment Plant team. What You'll Be Doing
As an intern, you'll assist in critical water treatment processes under the guidance of experienced professionals. Key responsibilities include:
-Operate & Monitor Processes: Help manage plant flows, filtration, and effluent processing while maintaining safety and efficiency.
-Lab Work & Sampling: Perform basic lab analyses, monitor online equipment, and collect water quality samples to ensure compliance with state and federal standards.
-Build & Maintain Equipment: Assist with the inspection, maintenance, and repair of plant systems, process instrumentation, and chemical handling equipment.
-Data Management & Reporting: Maintain records for regulatory compliance, update digital systems, and contribute to reports using plant data.
-Safety First: Follow safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment and assist in maintaining a clean and safe workspace.
-Fieldwork: Collect data, support new system designs, and assist with equipment setup or modifications.

What You'll Need
-Age: 18 +
-Education: High school diploma or GED.
-License: A valid driver's license.
-Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., work in a variety of environments, and handle hazardous materials safely.
-Safety Awareness: Commitment to following all safety regulations and wearing required protective equipment.
