Environmental Remediation Scientist or Geologist (Finance)

Step Into Your Role

Kleinfelder is looking for a dynamic Environmental Remediation Scientist or Geologist to join our team in the New Cumberland, PA office.

Kleinfelder is looking to expand the Site Assessment and Remediation (SAR) Team to support project efforts across the mid-Atlantic area. We are seeking candidates with 5+ years' experience related to geology, environmental site investigations and remediation.

Ideal candidates will possess strong communication and writing skills and technical background in soil and groundwater investigation and remediation projects.

Experience in the following areas are desired:

  • Phase I ESA's,
  • Phase II ESA field efforts and reporting, including:
    • Groundwater sampling.
    • Soil vapor sampling.
    • Collection and logging of soil samples.
    • Oversight of monitoring well installation.
    • Waste management.
  • Analyzing and interpreting analytical data.
  • Supporting development of technical reports.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in geology or environmental science.
  • 5+ years of related experience in consulting engineering firms or related service business and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required.
  • Soil and/or ground water sample collection experience.
  • Experience with various contaminants including chlorinated compounds, petroleum compounds, PCBs, PFAS compounds, and metals.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC).
  • A demonstrated ability to follow direction and work independently, as well as, in a team environment and a positive professional attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills. Preferred Experience/Certifications:
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training (a plus but not required)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Pennsylvania Professional Geologist or Geologist-In-Training
