A Day in the Life
The preferred working location for this role is the Medtronic facility located in Mounds View, Minnesota; however, the individual may also work from another US-based Medtronic facility. Additional work locations may include:

• Fridley, Minnesota\t • North Haven, Connecticut
• Mansfield, Massachusetts
• Santa Ana/Irvine, California\t• Lafayette, Colorado

As the Director of Strategic Partnerships, you will be responsible for enabling and growing both internal and external strategic partnerships of the Global Technology and Innovation team. In this role, you will champion and cultivate an environment that enables efficiencies, accelerates innovations, and drives success across the science and technology community. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff and Strategy Partner of the Chief Technology Officer, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to build strategic relationships that advance our goals.

Your success in this role requires proficiency in strategy development, relationship building, program and project management, change management, as well as presentation and interpersonal skills. We seek a bold, inclusive thinker who can bring new ideas and create solutions for complex relationships. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external and internal partners, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring effective communication, collaboration and partnership fostering

PROGRAM MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and execute operating mechanisms that ensure multiple touchpoints throughout the year to provide input and continuously improvement of key initiatives to deepen relationships across the enterprise and heighten the impact of the partnership.

PROJECT PLANNING AND EXECUTION

  • Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones for partnership initiatives, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.

INTERNAL COORDINATION

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams within the organization to support partnership activities, including legal, finance, corporate development, product development teams and others.

ISSUE RESOLUTION

  • Proactively identify potential issues or challenges in partnerships and work collaboratively to resolve them in a timely manner.

PERFORMANCE MONITORING

  • Track and evaluate partnership performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular updates and reports to senior management

RISK MANAGEMENT

  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with partnerships, maintaining a proactive approach to risk management.

MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree
  • 7+ years of managerial experience

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of the healthcare and /or Medtech industry
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and explore problems with minimal direction
  • Proven ability to collaborate and influence in a matrixed environment
  • Excellent written, verbal, visual communication and listening skills, with the ability to present to senior management and facilitate discussions
  • Strong executive presence and gravitas.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and facilitate strong, productive working relationships with a wide variety of cross-functional stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skills in managing priorities and making complex operational and business tradeoffs.
  • Strong business acumen, management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adept in managing multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and the ability to pivot focus when needed
  • Self-motivated, action-oriented, with a positive "can do" attitude and a collaborative, team-player mindset
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$190,400.00 - $285,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match , Short-term disability , Paid time off , Paid holidays , Employee Stock Purchase Plan , Employee Assistance Program , Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums) , and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
