Enviromental Permitting National Technical Manager (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting National Technical Manager to join our Energy Transition team to support and grow our expanding business across the Energy market in the Southeast. This position will include leading client development as well as project delivery. The position will require a candidate to work collaboratively with a diverse team and have the capacity to balance varying priorities.

Role accountabilities:

As an Environmental Permitting National Technical Manager, you will manage the growth of new and existing client relationships in conjunction with business development leaders and account leaders. This will include leveraging existing client relationships, leading and supporting client account teams, and leading pursuits and proposal development. This will require frequent networking with clients, both virtually and in person, to understand their needs and develop solutions. You will also track the regional market trends and landscapes in the Energy market around policy, regulatory, and technology, and provide updates to internal teams. You will additionally participate in market-facing events to increase Arcadis' presence and profile.

You will also be responsible for program and project delivery for environmental permitting projects, and will be the client point of contact and be responsible for overall technical and financial performance of projects, including project management responsibilities for scope, schedule, cost, quality, risk, and change. The ideal candidate will have significant experience and market familiarity with permitting of energy sector projects in the Southeast and be able to assist clients with planning services for project development and execution of comprehensive permitting programs. Expertise with state and federal regulations associated with the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Environmental Policy Act are required. Additionally, you will provide senior level quality assurance/quality control for client deliverables.

The client development aspect represent 50% of this role. The program and project delivery aspect represents the remaining 50%. Both internal and external travel will be required, estimated at 10-15%.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, geology, water resources, or similar environmental discipline.
  • Minimum of 15 years of total experience in the environmental consulting industry.
  • 10 years of experience managing environmental permitting projects, technical teams, schedules/budgets, and the delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating with Southeast federal, state, and local natural resource permitting agencies in the development of regulated utility and private development projects in the energy sector.
  • Ability to lead environmental permitting projects that may incorporate multi-disciplinary teams comprised of natural resources, engineering, cultural resources, NEPA, siting, public outreach, and other technical professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience leading client development activities, including the sourcing of project opportunities, participation in industry networking events, and direct client relationship building.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $136719 - $239529. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
