ITS Engineer (Finance)

Role Description:

Arcadis is seeking an ITS Engineer to join our team in Virginia Beach. In this role, you will ensure the successful execution, integration, and compliance of Landside Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and utility construction elements.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the department representative for Landside ITS and utility construction elements, maintaining a comprehensive understanding of design, construction, and contractual elements specific to this project area.
  • Interface with the Design-Builder, including the Design-Builder's Area Manager, to ensure seamless coordination of design, construction, and contract elements related to ITS and utilities.
  • Implement systems and processes for monitoring, inspection, and testing to verify that the project is constructed in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Coordinate and review construction submittals with discipline leads to ensure compliance
  • Document construction decisions, providing detailed records to support potential claims and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Identify risks associated with construction and propose mitigation strategies where necessary.
  • Monitor construction activities and documentation to verify that specified quality standards and contractual compliance are met.
  • Resolve challenges of significant scope and complexity, including highly technical or impactful issues.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines and Resident Engineers to ensure smooth integration and progress across all project areas.

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in ITS design and/or system development.
  • Experience with traffic signal plans, communication plans, tolling infrastructure design, or network planning/architecture

Key Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient with data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with design platforms like Open Roads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication skills-written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $130,000 - $160,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
