Senior Collection Specialist (Finance)

Job Description:

• Lead the debt collection process for assigned accounts.
• Investigate invoicing errors and disputes and follow up with customers.
• Assist with the collection of outstanding debts through effective communication via phone and email.
• Work with Management to set debt collection strategies.
• Keep detailed notes and records of all communications and actions,
• Negotiate repayments and payment plans when possible.
• Collaborate with lawyers if legal action is required.
• Collaborate with Accounts Receivable Team to resolve accounts.
• Answers questions customer s have about billing statements and invoices.
• Send necessary paperwork to customers.

Qualifications & Technical Competencies:

• Associate degree or bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in collections, account receivable, or related financial role.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with accounting software (Certinia, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience in healthcare, clinical, or regulated industry.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and other compliance standards related to client data.
