Driver, Dump Truck/Tractor (Finance)



A Hazmat Driver performs a large variety of tasks in support of the facility and production operations. The work is either directed by instruction or defined through procedures. These tasks are generally physical in nature, require the use of basic tools. Tasks are performed on an as-needed basis; daily tasks will vary based on priorities. Calls will be made throughout the day to have hazardous materials handled & transported along with other applicable tasks.

The hourly range for this position is $45,760 ($22/hr) - $48,880 ($23.5/hr). Please note that this compensation information serves as a general guideline.   • High School graduate or equivalent experience
  • Ability to roll objects weighing up to 900lbs on a regular basis
  • Experience and training in working with hazardous materials
  • Math skills that demonstrate a basic understanding of arithmetic

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver oils, acids, gases, and chemicals to work sites throughout the facility
  • Retrieve all hazardous waste from areas throughout the facility
  • Deliver paint to paint booth cell, retrieve empty paint holders, and empty holders
  • Retrieve medical waste and clean blood from machines and floor as needed
  • Transport chemicals arriving at Dock 18 to Plant 21 for Chemico
  • Work with Chemico on ordering necessary chemicals
  • Retrieve hazardous waste stored in satellite accumulation areas (located throughout the plant) and transfer into
  • proper shipping containers (F-bins)
  • Retrieve non-hazardous waste stored in satellite accumulation areas (located throughout the plant) and transfer into
  • non-hazardous hopper (located in Plant 31)
  • Assist in waste pickups by staging waste in Plant 35
  • Stage all waste containers for storage and pickups
  • Use transportation equipment such as forklifts and internal power trucks to deliver and retrieve material at job sites
  • Maintain hazardous waste storage area including applicable documentation, also mix hazardous waste for shipment
  • according to safety specifications
  • Use proper tools to perform tasks including, but not limited to, wrench, ratchet, pliers, impact wrench, and pressure

  • Complete work within specific timeframes depending on work orders
  • Maintain and update paperwork as well as work instructions upon completion of tasks
  • Demonstrate safe work habits
  • Maintain equipment and work area in clean and orderly manner
  • As a team member, demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems leading to continual process improvements and effectiveness of the team
