ETHICS & COMPL/PRIVACY MEDIA COMPLIANCE DIRECTOR (Finance)



Responsible for oversight of privacy media compliance across Kroger Precision Marketing's business with the goal of driving compliance with new and emerging privacy regulations and adtech industry policies and terms related to privacy. Manage subject matter experts in Privacy Media Compliance and partner with internal Kroger departments and external media clients and 3rd parties within the adtech industry space.   • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of data, governance, risk and/or compliance experience in the media industry
  • 3+ years of data privacy experience
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the technology, data and terminology that powers and is used in advertising platforms, DSPs, SSPs, ad exchanges, ad servers, and publisher partners
  • Experience managing and/or overseeing compliance programs
  • Ability to train, educate and motivate associates in all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think critically, act independently and interdependently, formulate plans and proposals, and persuade others to execute plans
  • Ability to make significant decisions without close supervision
  • Project management experience
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of the following enterprise systems: Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
Desired
  • Bachelor's degree in technical field or master's degree
  • Ad agency and/or data technology experience
  • Retail industry experience
  • Oversee and coordinate privacy media compliance for the Enterprise
  • Establish and direct the strategy and framework for the privacy media compliance organization and supervise and coach members in the performance of their duties
  • Lead the continuous improvement of the privacy media organization in line with the evolving legal, regulatory, industry and compliance landscape and evaluate the gaps and risks and initiate and drive program adjustment or improvements
  • Articulate the impact of existing, new and changing regulations, standards, directive and industry guidance on Kroger's media operations and business strategy to senior leadership and relevant stakeholders
  • Lead major projects that impact multiple stakeholders and require strategic consideration as well as leadership engagement
  • Represent Kroger in engaging and collaborating with peer compliance professionals in the industry
  • Remain current on all applicable privacy media regulations and enforcement actions and maintain relationships with federal, state and local regulatory agencies
  • Operate as one of the company's primary representatives with regulatory agencies in relation to media/adtech issues
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures and ensure consistency in application across the Enterprise where advisable
  • Implement, coordinate and oversee privacy media compliance systems and processes and provide guidance to product, data science and engineering teams on adhering to privacy and advtertising compliance obligations
  • Oversee the selection and management of third party privacy media consultants and service providers
  • Oversee, monitor and ensure auditing of and adherence to privacy media compliance across the enterprise
  • Develop and implement best practices for record keeping of training and compliance records and improve accessibility of records
  • Respond to alleged violations of compliance standards, assist with investigations, and oversee remediation efforts in a manner that meets all regulatory requirements
  • Provide regular, periodic reporting on privacy media compliance efforts to the Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, Privacy Officer and other designated executives
  • Travel independently up to 30% of the time
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
  • Ability to work cooperatively in high paced and sometimes stressful environment
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
  • Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
  • Ability to follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues
