Specialty Division Manager - Periop (Healthcare)



Job Summary

The Perioperative Division Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development and performance of all sales activities in the division, staff and direct a sales team and provide leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values.  Hold clinical sales team accountable to effective pipeline and opportunity management with targeted products and programs.

The Perioperative Division Manager is a subject matter expert integrated into the territory and owns the sales process and relationships with non-supply chain decision-makers.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cultivate and maintain high-level clinical customer relationships and effectively present Medline's clinical value proposition and solutions to Perioperative leadership
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and successfully navigate a complex, matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strategically target opportunities for team of direct reports; launch processes for targeting and accountability for customer system integration.
  • Develop business plans and sales strategies for the market. Initiate and coordinate development of action plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Oversee and present business review presentations and RFP responses. Assist sales teams in preparation of proposals and presentations.

Management responsibilities:

  • Oversee major projects/programs/outcomes
  • Budget responsibility
  • Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects; develop, recommend & implement new policies or modifications to existing policies
  • Provide general guidelines & parameters for staff functioning
  • Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training & development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting & ensuring consistent application of organizational policies

Additional Job Description

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in a business or clinical field.
  • At least 5 years of clinical sales experience. 
  • At least 1 year of field trainer experience or managing people.
  • Experience with enterprise software solutions and large, complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be people-oriented with strong inter-personal skills.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Ability to deal with difficult situations in a positive manner.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Due to the nature of an outside sales representative position, the ability to drive a car, travel in that car a majority of the day, and interact with healthcare providers on-site is required.
  • Position requires travel at least 50% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2 years of experience managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people in a sales management role.
  • Direct selling experience in sterile processing, operating room, or other procedural areas within an acute care facility selling medical device solutions or reprocessing services.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$132,600.00 - $199,160.00 Annual

The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
