Event Manager (Finance)



This Events Manager is responsible for the managing campus wide scheduling, planning, and implementation for meetings, events, and conferencing on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. The Events Manager leads strategy and planning for high profile events and fosters partnerships with campus wide staff, faculty, technical services staff, coordination with student staff, facilities, public safety, and the catering department. Reporting to the Associate Director of Event Management, this position will aid in the planning of all facets of USF Sarasota-Manatee events primarily occurring on campus but occasionally at off-site venues as well. Nights and weekend may be required.Bachelor's degree and four years experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

  • Lead strategy and planning for high profile events involving senior leadership and external
    partners.
  • Manage budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and ensure compliance
  • Serve as the university's primary event contact for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contributes to event marketing and collaborates with Communications on visibility efforts.
  • Creates staffing plans, timelines, and run-of-show documents for major events.
  • Finalizes logistics independently and leads pre-event walk-throughs.
  • Manage and oversee all activities related to event, including facilities, set up, technology , etc.
