Senior Associate, Sales, Growth and Innovation (Finance)

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Associate, Sales. Segal is a flexible hybrid organization. Depending on location, this is a hybrid role but fully remote may be considered.

This role is part of our Growth and Innovation Team and plays a crucial role in the initial stages of the sales process, as well as conference and event management. The Senior Associate focuses on lead generation, qualification, and setting the stage for successful sales engagements. This role will work closely with the SVP, National Sales, and the Vertical Market Leaders to identify and engage potential customers, ultimately contributing to continued growth and expansion. The Senior Associate will also work closely across markets to coordinate conferences and events. 

The individual works independently and on teams under general supervision and exercises day-to-day decision making in determining best approaches to accomplishing assigned responsibilities.  Maturity and discretion are needed in handling confidential information and judgement is required in analyzing the value of information gained through research for inclusion to work products. Senior Associate demonstrates accountability for accuracy and completeness of own work in supporting staff in Growth and Innovation. The individual contributes to problem solving efforts; exercises initiative in identifying approaches and/or solutions to resolve problems. The Senior Associate supports and contributes own thinking to efforts to meeting project and task deadlines and achieving desired outcomes given the time-sensitive and urgent nature of business, both internally and externally.

Key Responsibilities:

National Sales

·    Outbound Prospecting and Lead Generation:

–    Research target accounts and potential customers within defined markets or segments.

–    Utilize various channels, including list prep for contact outreach, email campaigns, social selling (e.g., LinkedIn), and networking, to initiate contact and generate new leads.

–    Employ strategic outreach methods and personalize email messaging to resonate with prospects and showcase the value proposition.

·    Lead Qualification and Nurturing:

–    Engage with CRM's and Business Developers (BDs) to understand their needs, pain points, and challenges, to improve the lead process and enhance data analytics.

–    Qualify leads based on established criteria (budget, authority, need, timeframe - BANT).

–    In conjunction with the BDs and CRMs, nurture promising leads through consistent follow-up, providing relevant information and building rapport.

·    Meeting Setting and Pipeline Management:

–    Schedule and coordinate meetings

–    Inputting new contacts into the CRM system following conference attendance by BDs and CRMs

–    Report creation of pipeline in support of Vertical Market Leaders from CE and Power BI, as needed.

–    Market Analysis support for trends and insights

–    Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions and activities within the CRM system (e.g., CE, Client Engagement).

–    Working with the CRM's and BDs to effectively manage and prioritize a pipeline of leads, ensuring timely follow-up and movement through the sales funnel.

·    Collaboration and Feedback:

–    Collaborate with CRMs and BDs to ensure seamless lead handoff and alignment on ideal customer profiles, messaging, and sales strategies.

–    Provide valuable feedback to the marketing team on lead quality, campaign effectiveness, and market trends.

–    Actively participate in internal sales meetings and coordinate efforts with internal teams.

Conferences and Event Support

·    Communicating effectively with internal and external clients, external organizations, and vendors to manage production needs, project deliverables, and other deliverables.

·    Supporting Vertical Market Leader by coordinating the HE Leadership Group including scheduling meetings, tracking action items, and managing our TEAMS site.

·    Working with our National Marketing team, including In House Design, on a regular basis.

·    Coordinating Conferences, training workshops, conference calls and webinars, and other client events (may include travel on occasion to assist at meetings); recording minutes at selected meetings and share with rest of team, filing documents for future reference.

·    Continuously searching for client/competitor news and disseminate key information.

·    Acting as a trusted advisor, using discretion by maintaining client and customer confidence on all matters, especially those that are confidential in nature.

Key Requirements:

·    Undergraduate degree or work experience equivalence with a focus in sales support.

·    3+ years of experience supporting a large team in a fast-paced professional services environment, providing research, marketing, and operational/administrative support is highly desirable.

·    Advanced working proficiency of all levels of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook as well as other software and on-line tools and resources.

·    Ability to coordinate, schedule, plan meetings, appointments, and other related events as needed.  Effective communication (oral/written) with internal and external clients and vendors to manage production needs and project deliverables is essential.

·    While working under minimal supervision, exercises initiative by contributing to how assigned tasks and objectives will be met.

Segal's total rewards are part of what makes Segal a special place to work. The current salary range for this position is $72,000 to $85,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
