Direct Support Professional III (400) (Healthcare)

How I will Contribute
Support students in achieving their best lives by conducting assessments and developing Individual Support Plans (ISPs) that reflect their needs and goals, while advocating for their active participation in the Kings View community.Provide timely support by observing and reporting any issues that may affect participants well-being to the Adult Day Coordinator.Lead Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) meetings to promote students success, facilitate learning, and ensure effective resource utilization during ISP implementation.Enhance the agency's reputation through professional conduct, effective communication, and strong leadership, consulting with other professionals as needed.Collaborate with participants and their support teams to implement training plans and engage in assessment and planning processes.Train and support staff, lead team meetings, and ensure timely documentation, fostering a collaborative and problem-solving environment.Transport participants to community events and outings.Transport individuals we serve on a fixed route to and from their homes. Driver responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting passengers with boarding and exiting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort, conducting daily vehicle inspections, and reporting any maintenance or safety issues.Facilitate individual and group learning experiences.Maintain accurate records, complete support documentation on time, and track participant progress towards goals.Engage and collaborate with Kings View team members in meetings, documentation, and proactive problem-solving.Aim for positive outcomes by dedicating 75-84% of paid time to direct support and a minimum of 10% to leadership activities, managing support within ISP timeframes.Promote healthy group dynamics by ensuring accountability and providing conflict resolution support as needed.Maintain positive relationships with participants legal representatives and community service agencies.Perform additional tasks to support program operations as assigned. These may include collecting attendance, organization of supplies, planning community outings, gathering curriculum materials, facilitating small groups/classes focusing on specialized skill acquisition or knowledge, providing 1:1 service or mentoring of new team members. Attend all required meetings, training sessions, classes, and seminars for continuing education.Participate in IDT meetings and perform other assigned duties.Complete required continuing education, training, and certifications each year to meet Title 17 and Title 22 requirements as applicable to the position and assigned program(s).Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall functioning and success of the program.

What I bring
High School Diploma (or Equivalent) Class C Driving License RequiredAdult First Aid and CPR2 years of relevant direct experience; on-the-job training may be considered.Knowledge of best practices in behavioral health and support for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Ability to interact effectively with management, ability to work with a diverse population, ability to work with clients with behaviors. Organization skills, time management skills, analytical skills, good written and verbal communication skills, multi-tasking skills, critical thinking, active listening, reading comprehension, interpretation, problem-solving, teaching, comparing, classifying, analyzing, coordinating, innovating and strategizing. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to meet program participants' needs. Understand, adhere to, and actively implement the Kings View: Vision, Mission, and Core Values, Staff Covenant Staff Conduct & Professional Standards, Organizational & Program-Specific Policies and Procedures, and Holistic Supports and Services model. Ability to perform emergency first aid and CPR as needed. Able to create appropriate systems for developing and implementing support plans.

Positive attitude, solid work ethic, responsible, self-disciplined, creative, culturally competent, empathetic, socially perceptive, flexible and adaptable. Must be at least age 21 and comply with Community Care Licensing personnel requirements: have a criminal record clearance, evidence of good health (pass a physical) and a negative TB test.
Some college preferred. Knowledge in utilizing assistive devices (e.g., mechanical lifts, wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, adaptive feeding utensils).
