Data Quality Business Analyst (Finance)



We are seeking a Data Quality Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our data.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Verisk's Commercial Lines Underwriting products with an emphasis on DQ issues and initiatives.
  • Supports the development of DQ processes for Verisk Commercial Lines products and services, engaging all stakeholders from IT to business users.
  • Establishes and maintains data governance initiatives to ensure internal DQ standards compliance are met.
  • Aid in the development & maintenance of the issue resolution and change management process across all DQ spectrums from field data collection, issue triaging, and assisting with issue prevention, resolution, and monitoring.
  • Create and maintain the data dictionary and related report dictionaries by collaborating with IT business analysts and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop a master data flow diagram, system flow diagram, data mapping document, and relevant technical definitions to describe the data and data flow across different systems
  • Build and maintain technical documentation as needed to support DQ initiatives.
  • Understand how our applications specifically support business processes.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to IT, Product, Data Governance, Legal, Actuary, and Business stakeholders on DQ initiatives.
  • Define and enforce naming conventions, definitions, and data usage guidelines.
  • Defines and documents requirements for future projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of data and system architecture, data analysis, system analysis, and DQ Control processes.
  • Understanding of process design and documentation methodologies.
  • Understanding of the products the analyst works in.
  • Build an understanding of the Commercial Lines Underwriting and risk management business domain.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, SQL, JIRA, reporting tools, Lucid Chart/Visio/ or similar tools
  • Experience or ability to work with data catalogue tools.
  • An understanding of programming languages like Python, Java, or C# is preferred.
