Adjunct Instructor of Electrical Engineering (Education)



The Engineering Department at Simpson University, Redding CA, is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to join the adjunct in Electrical Engineering pool for the upcoming academic year, with instructional needs in areas such as Circuits, Electronics, Signals & Systems, and Control Systems. Our department emphasizes project-based and experiential learning, and all courses include lab and/or project components supported by modern, state-of-the-art resources. We are particularly interested in candidates who can create innovative, hands-on lab experiences and integrate emerging technologies into their teaching. The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and align with the department's focus on experiential learning. Appointments are part-time and may be renewed based on performance, budget, and program needs.

Qualifications:
· A master's degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
· Prior industry and/or teaching experience is strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to teach in a project-based learning environment.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with students and faculty from multiple disciplines.

Essential Functions:
· Teach assigned courses, including class preparation, instruction, grading, and office hours.
· Plan, conduct, and assess laboratory components associated with assigned courses.
· Supervise and evaluate student assignments and projects.
· Provide additional academic support to students as needed.
· Foster a classroom environment that supports inclusivity, engagement, and growth.
· Track and report changes in class schedules or instructional delivery.
· Continuously review and improve teaching materials and methodologies.
· Participate in ongoing professional development and assessment activities.
· Comply with all university policies, procedures, and expectations.
· Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair or College Dean. Course modalities, schedules, and assignments are determined by the department.
