Manager, Information Security (Finance)

Job Summary

Responsible for managing a comprehensive information systems security program with the goal of protecting information accessed, processed, stored and transmitted in and out of the TriWest information systems environment. Collaborates on the development of information security policy and practices, specific to guidance from DoD, VA, NIST and HIPAA Security. Manage the organization's security documentation specific to TriWest contractual security requirements in collaboration with other members of the IT department. Position has overall responsibility for IT Security performance metrics, compliance reporting, and government directed security audits. Also provides broad-based information security support in the overall delivery of IT solutions and services as needed.

Education & Experience

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in the field of Information Technology or Information Security, or equivalent work experience
• U.S. Citizenship
• Must be able to receive a favorable Interim and adjudicated final Department of Defense (DoD) background investigation
• 3+ years of management experience with significant decision-making and budget responsibility in previous position
• Proven leadership experience and establishing trust and healthy relationships.
• 5-10 years in an information security position
• Knowledge of industry best practices in Information Security management and risk analysis
• Knowledgeable in a broad range of Information Technologies (IT) (Systems, Network, Desktop)
• Experience managing projects with the ability to leverage individual talents for project success
• Effective communication and facilitation skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong customer service orientation

Preferred:

• Relevant DoD Approved 8570 Certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CPP)
• Health care industry experience or knowledge of HIPAA
• NIST and VA Security standards experience
• Understanding of advanced technical concepts in the areas of systems, desktop, voice, and networking

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the information security function to include the planning, execution, timing, functionality, quality and cost of security toolsets that meet organizational goals of data protection.
• Develop, plan, and conduct annual risk assessment of information systems environment. Prioritize risks and advise leadership on known and unknown risks to the organization.
• Interface with government entities on technical requirements specific to maintaining contractual security requirements.
• Work with internal and external entities to conduct independent security audits and penetration testing.
• Ensure security documentation remains current and accurately reflects the security toolsets and defense in depth strategy in support of the organization.
• Review and update information security policies, processes, and procedures with detailed knowledge and understanding of DoD, VA, NIST, HIPAA, and URAC requirements.
• Oversee the administration and response requirements of all security tool sets, make recommendations on new tools that have direct impact to achieving organizational goals.
• Take active steps to resolve customer issues and needs.
• Assist in change management efforts to proactively prevent issues from re-occurrence.
• Actively engage in the overall delivery of IT solutions and services as needed: (systems engineering, problem resolution, service tickets, project management, etc.).
• Perform other duties as required.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.

Technical Skills: Conceptual and intimate knowledge of all information security tools, i.e., intrusion prevention, vulnerability scanning, syslog, firewall policies, reverse proxy, authentication.

Working Conditions

Working Conditions:

• Works non-regular hours as required
• On-call rotation to provide support to staff members for urgent needs
• Works within a standard office environment, with minimal travel
• Extensive computer work with long periods of sitting

TriWest job postings typically include a salary range, which can vary based on the specific role and location, but generally this position ranges from around $149,000 - $165,000 per year.
