You are:

An accomplished strategy consultant with a proven track record of advising senior executives at top-tier financial institutions. You bring experience from a leading consulting firm (MBB or Big 4 Strategy) and thrive in dynamic, high-stakes environments where you're trusted to design and drive complex transformations.

You understand the Asset Management ecosystem (Investment Products & Solutions, Public and Private Markets, Front/Middle/Back Operations, Platforms, Risk & Regulatory), and are energized by the opportunity to shape the future of the industry. You are drawn to building - practices, solutions, client relationships - and are looking for a platform that values intellectual rigor, entrepreneurial initiative, and tangible impact.

The work:

  • Lead and grow client relationships, working directly with Managing Directors and leadership teams to deliver high-impact strategic and operational transformations.
  • Own and manage end-to-end project delivery, including defining problem statements, designing solutions, structuring teams, managing scope, and ensuring delivery excellence.
  • Develop compelling content and thought leadership, shaping frameworks and guiding teams through the synthesis of complex research, analytics, and insights.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to C-suite clients, challenging their thinking, framing strategic choices, and influencing the agenda on growth, performance, innovation, and change.
  • Build the business, identifying whitespace opportunities, developing market-relevant value propositions, and winning new work.
  • Mentor and develop talent, cultivating a team-based culture that reflects the best of the consulting craft - structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, client service, and teamwork.
  • Drive innovation, bringing forward thinking on topics such as digital, AI, data-driven strategies, and the future of operating models across the Asset Management landscape.

Here's what you need:

  • Minimum 12 years of strategy consulting experience, ideally from a top-tier firm (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Strategy&, EY-Parthenon, Monitor Deloitte, etc.), or a blend of consulting and in-house corporate strategy/PE/IB experience supporting Asset Managers or broader Financial Institutions.
  • Deep expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Growth Strategy and Business Model Reinvention
    • Performance Improvement and Cost Re-Engineering
    • M&A Strategy, Due Diligence, and Post-Merger Integration
    • Pricing and Revenue Optimization
    • Platform & Technology Modernization
    • Digital, AI, and Analytics Enablement
  • Demonstrated success developing and converting client relationships into engagements.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to engage credibly with C-level stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams in dynamic, high-pressure environments.
  • Strong communication skills - both verbal and written - with the ability to frame complex ideas in a compelling narrative.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred.

This role is ideal for consultants who are:

  • Seeking a more entrepreneurial, agile platform where they can shape and scale a business - not just deliver within one.
  • Motivated by intellectual challenge , client impact, and the chance to help build a differentiated consulting proposition within the financial services sector.
  • Looking to move beyond just advisory into execution , partnering closely with clients to make strategy real.

Applicants must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States.

The salary range is $175,000 - $275,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD&D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
