Account Receivable Specialist (Administrative)



Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location:North Platte, Nebraska

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analyticalAccounts Receivable Specialistto join our finance team. This role will focus on managing accounts receivable,credit memo request, bank deposits& application, and making phone calls, while also supportingother general accounting duties.The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and provide clear communication with both internal departments and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full cycle of Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, payment posting, monitoring outstanding balances, and maintaining accurate customer account records.
Perform daily customer reconciliationsto ensure accounts are current, accurate, and discrepancies are resolved quickly.
Process cash applicationsby accurately applying customer payments, credits, and adjustments to accounts.
Prepare and reconcile daily bank deposits, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Handle claims processing and communications, including investigating discrepancies, coordinating resolutions, and maintaining proper documentation.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve billing and payment issues promptly.
Communicating via phone and email on past due accountsAssist in the preparation of Customer Statements and AR Aging Reports
Ensure compliance with internal policies, deadlines, and audit requirements.
Perform other accounting and administrative tasks as needed to maintain department efficiency.
Qualifications:
2 years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus in accounts receivable or collections
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and ERP systems .
Strong understanding of credits, claims, and cash application processes.
Excellent communication and customer service skills to manage both internal and external relationships.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds for files, documents, or office supplies.
Must be able to focus on detailed work with accuracy and efficiency.
