Engineering Technician (Finance)



For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $66,000 - $99,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join our Sustaining Engineering, Tools, and Test team. This role is critical in supporting the day-to-day operations of our engineering lab and plays a key part in ensuring the performance, reliability, and compliance of our product line. The engineering technician provides support to the development and sustaining groups with development activities; creates, tests, troubleshoots and manufactures machinery, consumer products, and other equipment. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and testing experience.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assemble, build, and maintain test setups and fixtures for product validation and compliance testing.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified electrical and mechanical components or assemblies for products, such as industrial equipment and machinery, power equipment, servo systems, machine tools, and measuring instruments.
  • Execute tests to support product development, regulatory compliance, and sustaining engineering efforts for product improvements.
  • Characterize product performance through hands-on testing and data collection.
  • Evaluate new components and materials for compatibility with existing systems.
  • Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of product issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers to implement and validate design improvements and product updates.
  • Maintain lab equipment, tools, and inventory. Ensure calibration and readiness of test instruments.
  • Record and analyze test data, and communicate findings to engineering teams.
  • Support prototype builds and initial production runs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in all lab activities

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical certificate / degree preferred .
  • 5+ years of experience of hands on experience with assembling and testing electro mechanical devices preferred .
  • Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, EMI chambers), and mechanical/electrical assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and test plans.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong safety awareness.
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 for creating tables, charts, and data entry.
  • Experience with electrical assemblies, power supplies, and related prototyping equipment (soldering, crimping tools, etc.)
  • Experience with mechanical components (e.g. Hoses, Barbs, Clamps, Mechanical Assembly, etc.)
  • Experience with Data Acquisition Units preferred
  • Efficient and clear communication skills, both written and oral

Physical Requirements/Abilities (If necessary)
  • Office environment working primarily at a desk on a computer.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
  • May require minimal lifting of thirty pounds or less.
  • May require navigating stairs and maneuvering through the plant environment for guided tours.
  • Travel is required on a regular basis to perform this role.

Nice to Have

Experience with compliance standards (e.g., UL, CE, etc.) and regulatory testing. Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PCB layout tools.
