Maintenance Mechanic 2 (Finance)



The Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs routine to moderately complex maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes. This role involves diagnosing and resolving machinery breakdowns, utilizing various tools, and conducting preventative maintenance tasks with increasing independence.
Job Details
  • Position Type: Full-Time/Hourly (Non-Exempt)
  • Pay Range: $28.00 per hour
  • Work Location: Onsite - Mundelein, Illinois
  • Shift: 7 AM - 4 PM
Key Responsibilities
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments to repair and maintain machinery in accordance with diagrams, blueprints, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Perform basic to moderately complex routine and preventative maintenance on plant equipment
  • Diagnose and repair breakdown in machinery
  • Handle moderately complex mechanical issues and refer more complex problems to higher-level staff.
  • Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to lift/move heavy objects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and interpret work instructions accurately.
Qualifications (Required):
  • Education: High School
  • Experience: Works independently on well-defined tasks and demonstrates increasing confidence in performing repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Typically requires 2+ years of relevant experience
Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Certifications:Powered Industrial Equipment Certification
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Required to stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to push/pull objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent bending and stooping required.
  • Must have the dexterity to handle small objects.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces
  • Must be able to work from elevated platforms
