Your Role:

We are seeking a highly driven and experienced Strategic Account Sales Executive to lead the growth and expansion of key enterprise and strategic accounts utilizing strategic account teams.  This role is responsible for a group of strategically critical customers in the NW US (ID, WA, OR) with one customer located in CA.  The Strategic Account Sales Executive is responsible for managing high-value client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and executing complex sales strategies to maximize revenue, customer satisfaction, and long-term loyalty. The ideal candidate thrives in a consultative sales environment, understands client needs deeply, and acts as a trusted advisor at the executive level.  Key to success will be the ability to find strategic value delivery opportunities which are valued by the customer and drive long-term loyalty to Elanco.

Your Responsibilities:  

  • Own and manage a portfolio of high-value strategic accounts, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Build and lead account teams through regular team meetings that develop expanded relationships across the customer's business team.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to grow revenue and deepen relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Gain a deep understanding of a customer's business enabling identification and delivery of value-beyond product initiatives.
  • Identify upsell, cross-sell, and new business opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Build long-term relationships with executive-level decision-makers and influencers across client organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product, customer success, and delivery) to ensure a seamless customer experience and successful delivery of solutions.
  • Lead contract negotiations and coordinate with legal and procurement teams as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to inform strategy.
  • Act as a voice of the customer, providing actionable feedback to product and leadership teams.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement through an active development plan

 What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications): 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree of Science or relevant experience.
  • Required Experience: 5+ years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on strategic/enterprise accounts.
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals in a consultative, complex selling environment.
  • Self-starter with high initiative and sound work ethic. 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, apply and communicate technical/scientific knowledge 
  • Flexible to learning new products and disease states over time  
  • Strong team member with ability to interact and coordinate deliverables across a diverse set of resources.

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):  

  • Strong experience building C-level relationships and navigating large, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong experience building relationships throughout a customer organization.
  • Capable of leading without authority.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of strategic selling methodologies

 

 Additional Information:  

  • Position is field based. 
  • Travel will be required.  Overnight travel will depend on location (Up to 50% overnight travel). 
  • Expectation of 3 – 4 customer facing days per week with 1 – 2 days in office for account planning, internal meetings and administrative need.
  • Location: Idaho, Washington and Oregon (Pasco, WA is the central location)

Elanco currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from $99,100.00 to 165,100.00 depending partly on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending partly on company and individual performance). Additionally, Elanco offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees that includes a company-matching 401(k); vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities). Of course, the compensation is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
