Organizational Unit

The College of Engineering (COE) serves over more than 7,500 students, offering 11 bachelor's programs, nine of which are ABET-accredited, as well as 13 master's and eight doctoral degrees. The college is actively engaged in local and global research activities with $42.9 million in research expenditures for the fiscal year 2021-2022. The college has 12 major research centers and institutes and is actively engaged in local and global research activities focused on sustainability, biomedical engineering, computing technology and transportation.

Position Summary

This position reports to the College's Associate Director of Marketing and Communications and supports the strategic efforts of the College of Engineering (COE) through the development and implementation of marketing programs, social networking, and public relations efforts. This position also researches, budgets, plans and executes several annual fundraising events within budget and to meet targeted fundraising goals.Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, public relations, hospitality management, business management, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master's degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree with preferred concentration in these areas marketing, public relations, hospitality management. 5 years experience in producing printed and electronic marketing and communications tactics to include planning, organizing and implementing fundraising events and professional meetings.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.Working at USF

  • Provides meeting services, conference planning, and management services to College of Engineering leadership, departments, student organizations, research groups, and donor relations activities. Plans, schedules, and manage the logistical activities for College of Engineering special events and meetings, ensuring strategic development of meetings and events. Establishes and manages annual events calendar.
  • Serves as primary liaison with the COE Office of Development and the COE Engineering Alumni Society; provides support to related events and meetings.
  • Monitors fiscal event planning for permissible expenditures, oversees billing accuracy from vendors and coordinates invoice processing.
  • Works with College of Engineering Communications and Marketing department to develop collateral and marketing materials, webpages, and social media as related to special events and meetings; researches materials, conducts interviews, and writes articles for publication and dissemination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the college and university.
