Chief of Neonatal Intensive Care (Finance)



Nemours Children's Health is seeking an accomplished Neonatologist to become Chief of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and lead our team in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Chief will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Level IV NICU at the nationally recognized Wolfson Children's Hospital. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership experience and excellent clinical and interpersonal skills as well as a high regard for teamwork.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care to critically ill and premature newborns in the NICU.
  • Guide medical decision-making and promote best practices in neonatal-perinatal medicine.
  • Lead complex case management and serve as a resource to the care team.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards (e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, state guidelines).
  • Lead, supervise, and evaluate a multidisciplinary team of neonatologists, nurse practitioners, and allied health professionals.
  • Manage staffing models, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Develop and enforce clinical protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with hospital administration on budgeting, planning, and service line development.

Qualifications:
  • MD or DO
  • Board certified/eligible in area of specialty
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA
  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
