Job Description
The person in this position will be expected to work with a cross-functional team to develop real-time intraop intelligence software for minimally invasive robotics system, to improve the surgical efficiency and clinical outcome for patients. Successful candidates will have experience in algorithm development, software design and development. The ideal candidate is an independent and fast-paced developer with excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for good software architectures and processes, capable of producing robust, high-quality code in the face of rapidly changing requirements.

Essential Job Duties

  • Participating in the full cycle of the development of intraop surgical software
  • Understand clinical requirements and develop technical specifications.
  • Design, prototype, and implement user-facing software and computer vision / machine learning algorithms.
  • Iterate with user feedback and deliver production-ready code.
  • Support system integration and testing.
  • Generate formal design documentation.
  • Prepare and review patent applications.
  • Contribute to system and software architecture.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • High levels of independence and technical ownership
  • Minimum MS or PhD degree in CS, EE, or related fields
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in computer vision, and machine learning
  • Knowledge and experience in one or multiple areas: image segmentation / registration / reconstruction, camera pose estimation / SLAM.
  • Proficiency in programming using C++ or Python, and experience with OOP design.
  • Proficiency in GPU programming such as CUDA
  • Familiar with one or more tools and libraries: OpenCV, PyTorch / TensorFlow, ITK / VTK.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with software development process in a regulated medical device environment is a plus.
  • 7+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant algorithm development

Required Education and Training
  • Computer Vision and Machine Learning application for surgical use cases
  • Strong clinical knowledge and surgeries especially robotic surgery
  • Technical understanding of surgical robot and how to integrate software into the MP and SP systems.
  • Stay up to date with latest model architectures and development trends and technologies, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our software algorithms.

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $221,400 USD - $318,600 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $188,200 USD - $270,800 USD
