Bachelor's degree (minimum): In fields such as Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
Master's or Ph.D. (preferred for advanced roles): A higher degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, or Aerospace Manufacturing could be beneficial for specialized research and development responsibilities.
Experience Requirements:
Process Engineering Experience: 3-5 years of experience developing, optimizing, and improving metallurgical processes.
Aerospace Industry Experience: Previous experience working with high-performance aerospace components, coatings, and quality control.
Vendor Coordination & Supply Chain Knowledge: Familiarity with external vendor management and coating applications for aerospace tools.
Manufacturing & Process Improvement: Strong background in Six Sigma, lean manufacturing, or process improvement methodologies.
Technical Support & Documentation: Experience writing work instructions, training personnel, and ensuring manufacturing consistency.
New Product Introduction (NPI): Understanding of tooling development, capital expenditure research, and onboarding new vendors for advanced manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of advanced coatings technology (e.g., thermal barrier coatings, protective aerospace coatings).
Expertise in metallurgical failure analysis (root cause identification & corrective actions).This position is responsible for developing robust processes that consistently meet or exceed our customers' requirements for the metallurgical quality and performance of aerospace components. Also, continuous improvement of processes by improving methods and developing new methods of manufacturing, leading to increased yields and reduced labor content.
