Position Summary:
The Grant Specialist I - Accounting plays a key role in the financial post-award administration of sponsored research at Rice University. This position is responsible for preparing and executing timely and accurate federal drawdowns, invoicing sponsors in accordance with contractual terms, and managing the accounts receivable lifecycle for externally funded awards. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with federal regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance), sponsor requirements, and university policies.

Workplace Requirements:
This position is offered as a hybrid role, combining both in-office and remote work to provide flexibility and support collaboration. The hybrid work arrangement will start after the first 90 days of employment. Per Rice policy 440 , work arrangements may be subject to change.
Hiring Range: The expected annual salary range starts at $59,500, depending on experience and qualifications. This is an exempt (salaried) position under FLSA and not eligible for overtime.
