Senior Financial Analyst I (Project Management)

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop annual budgets and periodic forecasts for all SG&A departments, working with department leads and senior management to ensure alignment with overall financial goals
  • Prepare reports for management on financial performance, along with detailed analysis of variances and potential risks and opportunities
  • Develop annual capital budgets for all areas of the organization, working with department leads and senior management to ensure alignment with overall financial goals
  • Track and report on actual spend versus budget and identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Manage the Appropriation Request process, ensuring all projects submitted have sufficient business justification/cost support, are aligned with the budget, and receive the proper approvals
  • Reporting on the status of projects to inform on spend and remaining commitments
  • Perform business case/ROI assessments to determine viability of potential projects
  • Provide cross-functional support as needed, with special projects, data gathering/financial analysis, etc.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance or accounting
  • 5+ years' experience in the accounting and /or finance sector
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends and variances, and develop reports to communicate financial information effectively
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced skills in Excel (formulas, functions, pivot tables, data analysis tools) and PowerPoint; ability to manage large volumes of data
  • Experience with SAP and One Stream preferred
  • Capacity to understand the broader business context and develop financial analysis to support overall business goals
  • Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with all areas of the organization
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and understandable manner to stakeholders
  • Desire to continuously improve processes and efficiencies; a bias for action
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments and quality of work product
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently
  • Exceptional work ethic

PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • Sight: must be able to regularly read computer screen, reports, and various documents with detail and clarity to accomplish work tasks in a safe and efficient manner, including regular use of adequate close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus
  • Hearing: must be able to regularly hear well enough to communicate

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routine uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and copy, fax and scanning machines. Employee must be able to perform job functions with appropriate intermittent relief where applicable under these conditions. Teamwork: This position will work with others to ensure efficiency in the workplace.
