Manufacturing Process Engineer (Finance)

  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of high mix/volume manufacturing methods, procedures and cost-reduction techniques using Lean manufacturing tools: including 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Pull Systems, Cellular Manufacturing and Kaizen events
  • Requires less than 10% travel

Expected (Educational) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field is required

Expected Years of Experience:
  • One to three years related experience in a manufacturing environment required
OVERALL POSITION PURPOSE:

This role will research, design and develop optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with specifications and quality standards using LEAN principles. Use established procedures and work under immediate supervision to perform assigned routine tasks with detailed instructions.

CORE TASKS:

  1. Research, design and develop optimal, cost-effective processes and methods in accordance with specifications and quality standards using LEAN principles
  2. Support SQDC and participate in Rapid Improvement Events
  3. Conduct time studies of production to develop standard work and to develop and maintain SOPs
  4. Prepare facility layouts as needed
  5. Process Engineering Change Orders (ECO's) for new and improved products
  6. Manage small capital projects including writing capital requests and installation of new equipment
  7. Develop and maintain SOP's and Standard Work for assigned operations
  8. Monitor quality discrepancies, identify trends and investigate quality problems and implement corrective actions
  9. Order tooling and fixtures needed in assigned department
  10. Resolve quality issues including field complaints, warranty issues and defective parts
  11. Work with Procurement to conduct make/buy analysis for all new parts
  12. Interface with Product Engineering, Logistics, Operations and vendor
  13. Prepare cost estimates for Accounting
  14. Provide technical support/solutions to manufacturing processes
  15. Drive cost reduction and optimal quality
  16. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
