Bakery Manager (Food Services)
We have an exciting opportunity as aBakery Managerfor our SayvilleStore! Our Bakery Managers are responsible for baking our gourmet recipes for cakes, tarts, cookies, pies, and all other delicious bakery goods. This individual will also be responsible for conducting interviews, hiring suitable bakery staff, and ensuring that orders for specialty cakes are completed on time. The Bakery Manager should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and enforce staff compliance with food health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
Ensuring that the bakery is adequately stocked with quality baking ingredients and suppliesEnsuring that baking tools, utensils, and equipment are properly cleaned and sanitizedCreating suitable work schedules for staff membersAppraising staff performance and carrying out the necessary disciplinary measures to address poor performanceTraining staff to produce high-quality bakery items while following proper food handling proceduresFollowing department plan and merchandising to correctly place and market bakery items in display casesInspecting bakery items to ensure that established standards on quality, uniformity, and aesthetic appeal are metResolving customer complaints in a professional mannerOther duties and functions as assigned.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a Baking/Pastry program is preferredProven experience managing a bakery in a fast paced, retail environmentActive food handler's license preferredSound knowledge of different baking techniques for all baked goods including cakes, tarts, pastry, cupcakes, cookies, special occasion desserts, pies, etc.The ability to work under pressure.Must be able to speak, read and understand the English languageOutstanding problem-solving skills and management skills are a mustRequires exceptional communication and customer service skills
