Health Benefits Analyst (Finance)

We are currently recruiting for a Health Benefits Analyst to join our New York Region. Segal is a flexible hybrid organization. 

The Opportunity: The Health Benefits Analyst is integral to supporting the delivery of a broad and diverse range of group health benefits consulting services to our clients. The Health Practice is a dynamic and continually growing business and offers significant visibility, client interaction, and opportunities to perform as an influential member of client teams and to learn and develop broad expertise in the current and emerging areas of the health benefits field through participation in special projects.

The Role: Under the guidance of Senior Health Practice colleagues, the Health Benefits Analyst works with clients and vendors in providing analyses, data interpretation, research, problem solving, communications and related health consulting services in an integrated and thorough approach that meets clients' needs. Health Benefits Analysts perform these duties at a high level of proficiency to produce quality, error-free deliverables for clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports;
  • renewal analyses;
  • benefit plan pricing;
  • analyses of complex technical data with regard to health benefit plans;
  • preparing budget projections;
  • preparation of bid specifications;
  • analyses of proposals.

The Requirements:
• A Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, math or related field required.
• Prior related work experience is not required.
• Critical skills include the ability to work independently and under the direction of senior Health Practitioners;
• strong written and numerical analytical skills;
• ability to thrive in fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations and multiple conflicting deadlines tactfully;
• proficiency in project management (managing projects within time constraints and budget parameters);
• excellent follow-through;
• proficiency using Excel; and strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).

The current salary range for this position is $62,500 to $75,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
