Emerging Solutions Product Strategy Senior Advisor - Express Scripts - Hybrid (Finance)



The Product Strategy Senior Advisor will be focused on Emerging Solutions as new program opportunities and will have responsibility for product strategy development and refinement of new product solutions for Express Scripts/Evernorth while also driving strategy and innovation tied to existing products. This may include clinical solutions, affordability solutions, and alternative value solutions. The Sr. Advisor will optimize product performance, grow product sales, develop new solutions, collaborate with marketing on creation of market facing materials, and coordinate with product operations, finance, data, technology, and operations teams.

This role reports to the Product Strategy Director of Affordability and Emerging Solutions, an integral part of the PBM and Supply Chain Product organization of Express Scripts, with responsibility to drive connected solutions across our Evernorth platform (medical, behavioral, pharmacy, care solutions and care delivery). The Senior Advisor will collaborate and influence product teams and other product leaders to ensure we deliver high value solutions to the market for our clients and patients while helping the company achieve growth and financial objectives. Responsibilities also include vendor-related contract management, business case development and presenting our solutions and strategies to all levels of leadership, and collaboration with account management and external clients and vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluate market trends, needs, and value drivers that present opportunities for Express Scripts/Evernorth to deliver improved affordability, value, clinical outcomes, and engagement for our customers
  • Strategy and business case development: Evaluate opportunities, design and pitch product strategy and solutions that will drive market value and ROI
  • Monitor product performance: Define and measure key performance metrics and conduct growth opportunity analyses in partnership with product operations, finance, customer experience, insights, and analytics teams
  • Go-to-market planning: Collaborate with sales enablement, marketing and customer experience teams to create robust launch plans and supporting materials
  • Solution Innovation: Work with key matrix partners to determine the next generation of product solutions
  • P&L Approach: Share accountability for solution penetration and overall earnings contribution
  • Ability to work and influence cross-functional partners to achieve key initiatives and corporate goals
  • Responsible for tracking financial and program outcomes; understand levers that exist to update product strategy accordingly
  • Understand and ensure compliance with vendor contracts
  • Present product solution offerings to internal client facing teams
  • Drive go-to-market strategy to ensure consistent and accurate messaging

IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE A COMBINATION OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • 8+ years' industry experiences solving business problems with bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred with emphasis on Clinical or Business Leadership competencies
  • Experience supporting product roadmap development with data-driven insights, analyzing product performance, customer behavior, and market trends.
  • Healthcare industry or PBM network experience working with clients or 3rd party vendors required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex information and draw relevant conclusions
  • Maintain strategic relationships and collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Clinical, Product Operations, Sales Enablement, Underwriting, Finance, and Client Leaders) to implement product solutions.
  • Proactive initiative with commitment and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong detail orientation, organization, and management of multiple parallel projects with fluid timelines
  • Experience presenting to internal and external client facing groups
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools: Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI
