Accounts Receivable Manager (Finance)



Job Overview

The Accounts Receivable Manager determines and manages financial risk of all Accounts Receivable and Deviated Pricing functions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Directs and manages all functions related to Accounts Receivable; including overseeing the Cash Application Supervisor.
  • Directs and manages all functions related to Deviated Pricing; including overseeing a team of deviated pricing coordinators/analysts.
  • Lead various projects with other departments to identify and limit exposures, as identified.
  • Responsible for credit decisions as related to new business and existing customers and for communicating back to the sales leadership team.
  • Responsible for monitoring trade news/reports and internal payment performance for potential risk.
  • Directs and participates in deduction review process, determines validity / reason for deductions; identifies and addresses trends.
  • Analyze customer reports to determine staff priorities.
  • Oversee the communications with brokers; deal with invoicing, ordering, commission, accrual and collection problems.
  • Manage Promotional Accrual Account Balances and provide direction of shortfalls or surpluses on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis. Work with sales to identify issues and maximize profitability.
  • Responsible for the accuracy/communication of A/R information such as aging reports, credit holds, accrual tracking, commissions and cash receipts to appropriate individuals.
  • Oversee and assure proper allocation of funds and timely payments of broker commissions and end customer internal accruals.
  • Work with sales and packaging departments to identify and limit packaging exposures.
  • Work with customer service/supply chain to identify / approve customer credits as per GLC approval policy.
  • Assist with liaising with external customers/distributors and third-party collection agencies as required.
  • Assist with year-end tasks; including providing support for the annual financial audit.

  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in management/finance or accounting
  • 5 years or more of Accounts Receivable and/or credit management experience.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 8-12 or more of Accounts Receivable and/or credit management experience.
  • MBA in management/finance or accounting.
  • SAP experience.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35°F to 100°F; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.

• Work is performed in an office setting.
