National Ancillary Provider Relations Lead Analyst (Finance)



WORK LOCATION: Remote position

The National Ancillary Lead Analyst - ARM provides advanced professional input to complex Provider Relations assignments/projects. Supports and provides direction to more junior professionals. Works autonomously, only requiring "expert" level technical support from others. Exercises judgment in the evaluation, selection, and adaptation of both standard and complex techniques and procedures. Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures, and monitor trends, within Provider Relations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as a key member of the Account Team and is accountable for the management of accounts receivable for their assigned segment or book of business, including timely and accurate remediation of all escalated claim issues.
  • Conducts an analysis to identify root causes; initiates and manages corrective action plans as appropriate.
  • Proactively monitors accounts receivable, service level agreements, and other related issues and communicates results to the Account Team.
  • Collaborates with the Account Team Manager, other Account Team leaders, and matrix partners to identify, resolve and improve AR issues.
  • Supports Account Team Manager in identifying best practices and driving improvements across internal and external processes, procedures and methodologies impacting AR management.
  • Works closely with matrix partners to resolve and provide remediation of identified claim issues.
  • Contributes to the development of the strategic service plan for their aligned Segment.
  • Develops and executes on corrective action plans to improve NA accounts receivable performance.
  • Works with account management team to proactively make recommendations on changes to improve service levels based upon root cause. Identifies and resolves claims related issues and trends.
  • Interacts directly with vendor to understand, educate, communicate and resolve AR issues.
  • Participates in face-to-face meetings as needed to act as an AR Subject Matter Expert.
  • Supports overall strategic service review process for assigned segment; responsible for the development and delivery of his/her accounts receivable updates to internal/external partners.
  • Achieves and or exceeds Service Level Agreements.
  • Manages all pre/post contract set up reviews for assigned Segment.
  • Manages AR issue action plans as needed for assigned Segment.
  • Contributes to market intelligence, documenting and sharing.
  • Reviews and responds to service intakes; escalates intakes as appropriate account team member.
  • Routinely prepares and presents updates, education, analyses, and other documents to internal and external partners.
  • Identifies education opportunities and provides proactive training on a continuous basis
  • May assist in reviewing, responding and escalating service intakes; creates service intakes from email inquiries for account team.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in benefits and claims administration and/or relationship or project management experience; working knowledge of National Ancillary programs is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of CIGNA claim and supporting systems is required
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills required
  • Excel knowledge required; Advanced Excel knowledge preferred. Access knowledge helpful
  • Experience with interpreting and applying provider contracts or fee schedule loading
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis on claims issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve problems and drive results to desired outcome.
  • Project management skills to include time management, task analysis and breakdown and resource utilization
  • Strong facilitation and negotiation skills - demonstrated ability to present detailed technical information to a less knowledgeable audience and negotiate resolutions in a mutually beneficial manner to both CIGNA and the provider satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to see the "big picture" - understand how each phase of the claims payment process affects the end result and provider satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confrontational situations in a professional manner ending in a better partnership between CIGNA and the provider.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of tasks/projects and perform work under minimal supervision with exceptional outcomes.
  • Some travel will be required

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 65,500 - 109,100 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
