General Information:

Title: Contract Lawyer

Status: Full-time; Exempt                                   

Location/Site: Corporate

Hours: Monday – Friday, possible weekends   

Reports to: CEO                                                

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Travel Requirements: 25%

Position Overview:

A detail-oriented and motivated Contract Lawyer with 1–3 years of experience will join the team in San Antonio, Texas. This role is ideal for a recent law graduate or early-career attorney eager to apply legal knowledge in a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will provide legal support across corporate, commercial, and general counsel functions, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws while supporting company operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Advise business teams on legal risks, obligations, and compliance issues.
  • Support corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare concise summaries or recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide practical and business-oriented legal solutions.
  • Ensure proper handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Contribute to teamwork and foster collaboration within and across departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree and Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas and/or hold a UBE/MBE certification.
  • 1–3 years of post-law school experience, preferably in corporate, commercial, or general counsel roles.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license with a strong driving safety record (no more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years).
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state laws applicable to business operations.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts.

Qualifications:

  • In-house experience with a corporation or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with contract law, employment law, and corporate governance.
  • Experience advising businesses operating in multi-state or national environments.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of legal matters across multiple disciplines.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
