Inventory Control Analyst
Responsible for analysis and active management of inventory at PPT sites including warehouses,
3PLs, FSLs and storage lockers supporting Lean concepts and life cycle management. This means
that product activity is monitored, and part stocking is planned against min/max quantities
determined by ongoing usage analysis. Manage the ongoing business system reconciliations, site
audits, inbound process and issues relating to 3PLs for both domestic and international sites. Work
with Finance to determine monthly LOCOM requirements. Continuously improve the inventory
allocation and reallocation process utilizing Lean methodology. Support the ongoing Asset
Acquisition process to facilitate the lowest cost model of parts procurement.
What you'll be doing:
• Review of daily dropped contracts report for asset buy opportunities.
• Respond to Sales on daily customer asset purchase requests.
• Recommend inventory need and value of opportunities.
• Provide offer to purchase to Sales for their leads and work directly with customers on dropped
asset buys.
• Coordinate asset recovery, testing and customer certificates.
• Work with Supplier Mgmt. to establish a supplier network interested in volume purchases from
PPT.
• Work with defined supplier network on specific volume purchases from PPT.
• Work with defined network of OEM leasing companies to procure entire new systems coming off
original lease or purchase for PPT.
• Provide internal ITAD service to customers requiring NIST/DoD level disk destruction.
• Expand the full job scope internationally as growth dictates.
• Ensure that min/max is properly executed for the main and regional warehouses. This will expand
to Choice & UBSS lockers in 2017.
• Manage ongoing requests to stand up new PPT lockers.
• Implement effective inventory reduction processes and timelines for inventory at Choice, UBSS
and PPT lockers.
• Assist in the review, understand and refine methodologies and tools used to determine part usage,
part reductions in lockers and alternate part numbers.
• Provide data-driven analysis to facilitate decisions and drive continuous improvement to PPT's
inventory model.
• Work cross-functionally with purchasing and planning to ensure new parts are in place in the
correct locations at the needed time.
• Other duties as assigned.
What we're looking for:
• 5-7 years IT/Hardware Services industry experience in Materials.
• 2-4 years IT/Hardware Services industry experience in Materials
• Experience in the 3rd party hardware service industry preferred.
• General knowledge of information technology services preferred.
• Comprehensive experience with corporate business systems and tools.
• Knowledge of products/commodities in computer server and data center equipment.
• Displayed understanding of equipment specifications sufficiently to determine market value.
• Ability to negotiate price for both the asset purchase side and the bulk part sales to partners.
• Ability to interact successfully and remove any barriers with various backgrounds/departments
such as Service Operations, Sales and Finance.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment and to maintain a positive attitude
in any situation, have sense of ownership, desire to improve and excel.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Bonus Points:
• APICS or other industry standard certifications a plus.
Education:
• Bachelor's degree required.
