Statistical Data Analyst (Finance)

The Statistical Data Analyst plays a key role in advancing the mission of the Student Success Research & Analytics (SSRA) unit within the Office of Decision Support (ODS). This position is responsible for conducting data analysis and statistical modeling to support institutional research and student success initiatives. The analyst develops and manages data models, performs forecasting, and supports goal-setting for Accountability Plans and College Accountability reports. They contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of student success and regulatory dashboards and reports, applying best practices in business intelligence (BI), data visualization, and analytics using tools such as SAS, Power BI, SQL, and Microsoft Fabric. Working collaboratively with internal ODS teams and college stakeholders, the analyst ensures that reporting and analytics are aligned, accurate, and actionable. The position also supports emerging data strategy needs by researching and implementing effective data management and analysis techniques.Must be eligible to work in the US at the time the position starts. Minimum Qualifications

  • This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master's degree in one of the same fields.
  • Progressively responsible work experience may substitute for the college on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a discipline involving quantitative data analysis and at least three years of experience.
  • Extensive use of Power BI and Excel, with proficiency in SAS/SQL programming and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with student success research and knowledge of database management is preferred.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.

  • Extracts, cleans, and integrates data from multiple sources. Develops queries and automates report generation to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable information for internal and external reporting. Designs and produces ad hoc reports with graphs, tables, and charts using Excel, SQL, SAS, and Power BI.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains student success and regulatory dashboards and reports within the unit's portfolio. Applies best practices in data storytelling, visualization design, and user experience to enhance accessibility and insight for stakeholders.
  • Conducts statistical analysis to support student success initiatives. Uses SAS, R, Python, or Microsoft Fabric to perform advanced analytics, forecasting, and predictive modeling in support of Student Success Research & Analytics (SSRA) projects.
  • Maintains and documents data preparation and analysis code. Ensures effective data management and documentation practices in line with ODS standards to support data integrity, reproducibility, and transparency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission and evolving priorities of the SSRA unit and the Office of Decision Support.
