LNG Plant Manager (Finance)



Position Description

Job Description:
LNG Plant Manager will be responsible for the operations and processes of Kinetrex liquified natural gas facilities located in Indianapolis, IN and multiple LNG small scale regasification/vaporization field units throughout the Midwest including, but not limited to, production, maintenance, engineering, safety, and oversight of contractors, engineers and supervision of plant operators. The LNG Plant Manager must understand all facets of liquified natural gas and the manufacturing process including safety and security, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards. This position will report directly to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Will oversee and manage all facets of LNG plant operations, performance, and integrity.
  • Liaison with Executive Leadership Team as well as general Operations, Engineering and Maintenance Teams to ensure clear communication and optimal production levels of all LNG facilities as well as coordination with Kinetrex's comprehensive business strategy.
  • Technical, in-depth knowledge of plant operating procedures, equipment, maintenance protocols, governmental regulations and related technical and safety codes and standards.
  • Ability to differentiate, troubleshoot and/or resolve mechanical and/or operational related issues as required.
  • Oversees staffing schedules and assists in determining staffing needs for operators as required.
  • Promotes safety and environmental compliance at all times, by ensuring that all safety and environmental policies and procedures are developed and enforced.
  • Communicates and interacts with all departments, plus consults with external resources to resolve issues and improve facility reliability and safety.
  • Supports development and implementation of employee-training programs for skill development and regulatory compliance. Develops programs in both individual and group formats.
  • Establish key operational metrics or KPIs that are utilized to maximize operational output, identify predictive failures, and reduce costs
  • Propose, communicate, and track O&M and capital budgets for individual plants
  • Available for weekend and after hour calls from on-duty personnel pertaining to equipment repairs and plant outages.

Position Requirements

Educational Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Preferred Bachelor's in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or other Technical degree or equivalent process experience
  • 6 - 8 years of technical operations, engineering or management experience with industrial gases, plant operations in cryogenic applications or related field
  • Knowledge of liquified natural gas safety standards and codes with an acute sensitivity to safety issues in a hazardous environment are preferred
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent leadership abilities, effective communication skills at all levels of an organization, and strong administrative abilities are required
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees, contractors and/or customers
  • Self-motivated, highly professional individual who executes work with little oversight
