Director, Program Manager - Data & Analytics (Finance)



PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Director, Program Manager for Data & Analytics is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of initiatives that support the Data & Analytics Strategy and Operating Model. This role ensures alignment between client analysis and reporting needs, data governance, and IT capabilities, driving improvements in service delivery, client experience, and system performance. Working closely with leadership, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Director will manage a portfolio of initiatives that enhance Data & Analytics products and services. The role requires strong program management skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate strategic goals into actionable plans within an agile framework. The Director oversees multiple agile teams and vendors, ensuring timely delivery, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. This position plays a key role in shaping the future of Data & Analytics at the institution, fostering innovation while maintaining operational excellence.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or other field involving software and analytical training from a regionally accredited institution, and seven years of IT related exempt level experience, OR a Bachelor's degree with no specific required field and eight years of IT related work experience, OR a combination of ten years of IT related work experience. Appropriate industry certification is required to demonstrate training. In all cases, at least seven years of IT related work experience must be at the exempt professional level and five years of experience must involve management and supervision of exempt professional IT staff.

  • Extensive SAFe expertise, especially product and portfolio management.
  • Data & Analytics expertise, including Data Literacy, Data Governance, and Data Management.

  • Strategic Leadership: Align program portfolios with organizational goals and stakeholder needs. Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define long-term goals and vision. Identify opportunities for strategic alignment and portfolio optimization. Advise leadership on program alignment and operational maturity. Facilitate structured intake processes to ensure initiative pipelines.
  • Program Management: Lead execution of Data & Analytics programs using Agile principles, developing and implementing scalable processes and best practices. Monitor program performance and drive continuous improvement through metrics and feedback.
  • Mentorship: Collaborate with Resource Managers and senior leaders to assess performance and set goals. Mentor and support Product Owners and Program Managers to build competency and independence in their roles. Identify opportunities for professional development and skill-building within the portfolio.
  • Stakeholder and Customer Engagement: Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on Data & Analytics' priorities. Manage escalations and resolve conflicting stakeholder priorities. Align product vision with client needs and business outcomes. Represent Data & Analytics in executive-level discussions, advocating for product strategy.
