Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overall supervision and coordination of workers' activities related to the setup, installation, maintenance and repair of equipment, tools, and machinery. This position works closely with the Site Manager and Production Supervisor to ensure a safe, production operation.

Job Location

This is an onsite position located at our Canaan, CT plant.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
  • Assist and direct workers in diagnosis of malfunctions in equipment and machinery.
  • Observe mechanical devices and equipment to determine proper functioning or identify causes of trouble
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Plan and implement a schedule of routine and preventative maintenance procedures and assign and monitor personnel.
  • Order parts needed for special projects, routine maintenance requirements, spare parts, tools and equipment needed and inventory accordingly.
  • Develop a working knowledge of individual plants and processes to ensure decisions and recommendations can be made objectively.
  • Assist in management of Capital Project Design, budget, installation and commissioning.
  • P&L budgeting / maintenance spend tracking.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas as well as assistance in executing EHS&S Trainings.
  • Works closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.
  • Attend and contribute to daily, weekly and project meetings to ensure maintenance schedule is executed in a timely manner.
  • Frequently test all equipment for safety and effectiveness.
  • Investigate potential plant improvements and develop recommendations for such improvements.
  • Secure understanding of the Oldcastle 5 Fundamentals and the execution of them daily.
  • Payroll and maintenance scheduling.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent in training, education or 5 + years of experience as maintenance manager, or equivalent combination of experience, training and education
  • Ability to maintain and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic control equipment used in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, process sheets, and assembly schematic drawings
